What do you find most rewarding about your job as a miner?
Just knowing I’m apart of the coal family and knowing I help keep these lights on for our family and youth .
What are some of the challenges you face regularly in your work, and how do you address them?
Mental games, but I go down with open mind and full heart cause I know there ain’t nothing more important then The brotherhood that is down there.
Are there any particular skills or qualifications that are essential for someone interested in becoming a miner?
Mechanical and engineering skills are pretty critical in the mine industry just so you can get your job done without being on down time.
How has your experience in the mining industry shaped your perspective on the importance of mining in our society?
It showed me that this job is no joke and is extremely important without us running coal power plants don’t get coal and without power plants running we would be in a much worse position in today’s society for the whole power reason.
How do you see the future of mining evolving, and what opportunities or challenges do you anticipate?
I think in the next few years the whole coal industry is going to spike again like it did back in the day the mines are constantly getting better equipment to make everyday work as safe as it possibly can .
